With faith and reliance upon Almighty Allah, I assumed the role of President of Ibn Sina University of Medical and Pharmaceutical Sciences on July 13, 2023. his young university, founded in 2014, encompasses four medical faculties: the College of Medicine, the College of Dentistry, the College of Pharmacy, and the College of Nursing, along with multiple research centers. Since its establishment, two faculties have been successfully inaugurated: the College of Dentistry in 2016—which has, with all praise to Allah, celebrated three graduating classes to date, and the College of Medicine in 2017, which has recently celebrated its first graduating class, adding highly qualified and distinguished physicians to the ranks of the Ministry of Health. The remaining faculties will be inaugurated, by the grace of Allah, as resources and circumstances allow.
One of Ibn Sina University’s primary objectives is to prepare the students to become outstanding physicians, dentists, pharmacists, and nursing professionals. We strive to provide scientific and rigorous training that cultivates high standards of competence and expertise within their respective disciplines. Through a modern, advanced curriculum and the latest educational methodologies, both in basic and clinical sciences, we ensure that our graduates are fully equipped to meet the demands of rapid scientific progress in the medical field, thereby positioning our university as a prominent academic institution both within Iraq and internationally.
I have full confidence that, with the support of the university’s esteemed faculty and administrative staff, Ibn Sina University will achieve these noble objectives. Together, we will continue to advance the university’s vision, mission, and goals in service to our beloved nation and in support of higher education and medical education in Iraq. In doing so, we aim to supply society with fostering healthcare professionals who embody the highest standards of expertise and commitment.
