Elections for the Representative of the Iraqi Academics Syndicate in the Colleges of Medicine and Dentistry at Ibn Sina University





Ibn Sina University of Medical and Pharmaceutical Sciences held elections for the representative of the Iraqi Academics Syndicate in the Colleges of Medicine and Dentistry on Thursday, March 20, 2025, in the presence of a syndicate committee led by Dr. Abdul Rahman Al-Ghantoosi, along with the university council representative of the syndicate, Dr. Kawthar Ali Al-Tamimi. The elections reflected the commitment of academics to democratic values and active participation in decision-making, allowing them to choose a representative to advocate for their academic rights. The voting process was conducted with integrity and transparency as several academic candidates competed, presenting their visions and plans to support their colleagues and enhance the role of the syndicate in advancing academic and professional interests. Following the vote count, the supervising committee announced that Dr. Ayah Raed Abdulwahab was elected as the syndicate representative for the College of Medicine, while Dr. Anas Hashim Sadiq was elected for the College of Dentistry, both of whom will work to advocate for faculty rights and improve the academic environment. Attendees praised the smooth and professional electoral process, emphasizing its significance in reinforcing the syndicate’s role within educational institutions and ensuring fair representation for academics. The newly elected representatives expressed their gratitude for the trust placed in them and pledged to work diligently to fulfil the aspirations of their colleagues and enhance their professional conditions. It is worth mentioning that the Iraqi Academics Syndicate plays a crucial role in defending the rights of faculty members across Iraqi universities and continues its efforts to create an academic environment that aligns with modern scientific advancements
