Faculty Members from the University of Babylon Participate in Final Clinical Examinations for Sixth-Year Medical Students

Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Abbas Naji Al-Shareeifi, President of Ibn Sina University of Medical and Pharmaceutical Sciences, and as part of the University`s commitment to strengthening academic collaboration among Iraqi universities and promoting excellence in medical education, a distinguished academic delegation from the College of Medicine at the University of Babylon participated in the final clinical examinations for sixth-year medical students at the College of Medicine. The examinations were held at Al-Yarmouk Teaching Hospital from 14 to 30 June 2026, following an official invitation extended by the President of the University.

The Council of Ibn Sina University of Medical and Pharmaceutical Sciences convened its regular session under the chairmanship of Professor Dr. Abbas Naji Al-Shareeifi, President of the University, with the attendance of the Council members to deliberate on a number of academic and administrative matters listed on the agenda and to adopt the necessary decisions in line with the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the University`s strategic plans for advancing the educational process.

Ibn Sina University Conducts Mandatory Professional Development Course on Energy Sustainability, Environmental Protection, and Occupational Safety

Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Abbas Naji Al-Shareeifi, President of Ibn Sina University of Medical and Pharmaceutical Sciences, the Department of Quality Assurance and academic Performance, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Department at the University Presidency, organized a mandatory professional development course on energy sustainability, environmental protection, and occupational safety. The two-day course was held at Al-Razi Hall and was designated for staff members eligible for job promotion. The course aimed to enhance the knowledge and professional competencies of faculty members and employees included in the promotion process by raising awareness of energy sustainability concepts, environmental protection practices, and occupational safety principles, in line with institutional development requirements and quality standards in higher education institutions.

President of Ibn Sina University Inspects Final Clinical Examinations for Sixth-Year Medical Students in Obstetrics & Gynecology and Pediatrics

As part of his continuous follow-up of the educational and examination process, Professor Dr. Abbas Naji Al-Shareeifi, President of Ibn Sina University of Medical and Pharmaceutical Sciences, conducted an inspection tour to review the progress of the final clinical examinations for sixth-year students of the College of Medicine in the Departments of Obstetrics & Gynecology and Pediatrics. The examinations were held at Al-Karkh Maternity Hospital and Ibn Al-Baladi Hospital for Children and Maternity.

As part of his ongoing supervision of clinical and practical examinations, Professor Dr. Abbas Naji Al-Shareeifi, President of Ibn Sina University of Medical and Pharmaceutical Sciences, visited Al-Yarmouk Teaching Hospital to review the practical examinations of sixth-year medical students in General Surgery. Upon his arrival, he was received by Associate Professor Dr. Hussein Hadi Jaber, Head of the Surgery Department, and Associate Professor Dr. Khalid Ahmed Abbas, Consultant Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgeon. During the visit, he was briefed on the examination procedures and the assessment mechanisms adopted to evaluate students’ clinical competencies.

President of Ibn Sina University Oversees Research Defenses of Arab Board Internal Medicine Candidates

Professor Dr. Abbas Naji Al-Shareeifi, President of Ibn Sina University of Medical and Pharmaceutical Sciences, oversaw the research defenses of Arab Board candidates in Internal Medicine in his capacity as Academic Supervisor of the Al-Yarmouk Teaching Center for Arab Board Training in Internal Medicine. The discussions were held at Al-Yarmouk Teaching Hospital from 7 to 11 June 2026. The sessions featured the presentation and evaluation of nineteen research projects conducted by Arab Board candidates in Internal Medicine. The studies addressed a range of specialized topics in cardiology, respiratory medicine, nephrology, rheumatology, and other subspecialties. The discussions were attended by a distinguished panel of faculty members from medical colleges across Iraqi universities, alongside consultant physicians from the Baghdad Al-Karkh Health Directorate and Medical City.
