President of Ibn Sina University Extends New Year Greetings for 2026

The Volunteer Work Committee at the College of Medicine Visits Dar Al-Hanan for People with Severe Disabilities

Under the patronage of the President of Ibn Sina University of Medical and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Prof. Dr. Abbas Al-Shareeifi, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Medicine, Prof. Dr. Safaa Jawad Kazem, the Volunteer Work Committee at the College of Medicine organized a field visit to Dar Al-Hanan for People with Severe Disabilities located in the Al-Ateefiyah area.

College of Medicine at Ibn Sina University Wins the Futsal Championship

Under the patronage of the President of Ibn Sina University of Medical and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Prof. Dr. Abbas Al-Shareeifi, and within the framework of cooperation and coordination among Iraqi universities, the Student Activities Division at the College of Medicine organized the final match of the futsal championship, which brought together the third-year teams of the Colleges of Medicine and Dentistry. The final match was held at the College of Pharmacy/ Al-Mustansiriyah University, in cooperation with the Student Activities Department, amid a competitive atmosphere that reflected the high level of sportsmanship among the students of both colleges.

The President of the University directs the recognition of postgraduate degrees for a number of faculty members and employees.

The President of Ibn Sina University of Medical and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Prof. Dr. Abbas Naji Al-Shareeifi, received a number of faculty members and employees who expressed their thanks, appreciation, and gratitude for his continuous efforts during the past period in overcoming the obstacles that previously prevented the recognition of their postgraduate degrees. This meeting came following his directive to grant official approval by the University Council, which contributed to resolving this matter and ensuring that those entitled receive their rights according to the approved legal regulations.

President of Ibn Sina University Participates in the Arab Board Examinations in Erbil

The President of Ibn Sina University of Medical and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Professor Dr. Abbas Naji Al-Shareeifi, and Scientific Supervisor of Al-Yarmouk Center for Medical Specialties, participated in the Arab Board Examinations in Internal Medicine, held in Erbil over Friday and Saturday, with the attendance of a distinguished group of Arab and Iraqi academics. The examinations were attended by prominent academic figures, including the President of the University of Jordan, Professor Dr. Nadhir Obeidat, alongside professors from Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Jordan, Palestine, and Libya, in addition to a select group of faculty members from Iraqi colleges of medicine.

At the kind invitation of Professor Dr. Abbas Al-Bakri, President of the University of Information and Communications Technology, Professor Dr. Abbas Naji Al-Shareeifi, President of Ibn Sina University of Medical and Pharmaceutical Sciences, participated in the graduation ceremony of the eighth cohort for the academic year 2024–2025, held under the theme “Excellence and Creativity,” in the presence of senior academic figures and the graduates’ families. This activity forms part of the Civil Defense program approved by the Ministry, aiming to preserve the environment, reduce potential risks, and enhance safety measures.

Faculty Member at Ibn Sina University Achieves a Global Scientific Milestone in Infertility and Andrology

Professor Dr. Ihab Jasim Al-Agidi, a faculty member at Ibn Sina University of Medical and Pharmaceutical Sciences, has achieved a distinguished international scientific accomplishment through his contribution to the publication of a specialized research paper indexed in Scopus Q1, reflecting the advanced academic standing of the university’s faculty and its active presence in global scientific research. This achievement resulted from broad international collaboration involving more than 130 researchers from 75 countries worldwide. The study addressed a key topic in infertility and andrology, focusing on evidence-based clinical guidelines for the use of antioxidants in the treatment of male infertility, thereby contributing to the standardization of medical practice and improving healthcare quality.

President of Ibn Sina University Hosts the Council of the College of Medicine

The President of Ibn Sina University of Medical and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Professor Dr. Abbas Naji Al-Shareeifi, hosted a meeting of the Council of the College of Medicine, in the presence of the Assistant President for Scientific Affairs, Professor Dr. Haider Wahab Al-Sarhan. At the outset of the meeting, His Excellency welcomed the Council members and extended his congratulations on the College of Medicine’s achievement of fourth place nationwide in the ministerial comprehensive assessment examinations. He emphasized that this accomplishment reflects the distinguished academic reputation of both the university and the college, particularly following the completion of the core scientific departments and the transfer of a large number of highly qualified consultant physicians and medical specialists from the Ministry of Health to the university. He further commended the high academic caliber of the students and directed that members of the teaching staff in the scientific departments be formally honored in recognition of their efforts that contributed to this achievement. During the meeting, the University President clarified that His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Advisory Board had approved extending the university’s stay at its current campus until the completion of construction of the new university complex on the designated site, noting that evacuation of the current building had previously been scheduled for June 2026. He expressed his sincere gratitude to His Excellency the Minister, the Advisory Board, and the President of Al-Mustansiriya University for their supportive and commendable stance.
