Dr Sarmed conducts research in Clinical Pharmacy fields especially the pharmacogenetics/Pharmacokinetics and Pharmacodynamics.

He conducted a multi-centre clinical research on  HIV patients and the role that pharmacogenetics can play in improving the clinicall outcomes upon using Highly Active Antireteroviral Therapy (HAART). Also Dr Sarmed developed a Pharmacokinetic model about the plasma levels of antireteroviral drug in addition to its impact about the clinical response patients quality of life.

One of the interesting areas to his research is the assessment and enhancing adherence to medication to improve the clinical outcomes.

Dr Sarmed also conducts research in clinical aspects of medical an pharmaceutical education.

Recently, doctor Sarmed Conducts research in Antimicrobial drug misuse and antibiotic resistance, in addition to drug misuse/abuse and pharmacist role in reducing these two expanding phenomena.

Dr Sarmed interested in the role of electronic learning  in the medical and pharmaceutical fields and future model of the 21st century educational system.
